Welcome to the Children, Young People and Families Manager Apprenticeship forum.
This forum is designed to be a Peer support system on top of your time in the workshops together.
Peer support is an essential part of the toolkit in a role that can often be isolating. Discussing and seeking resources from others in similar roles is inherent to meaningful CPD. It brings us into demonstrating the Competence aspect of the 6x C's that we know should underpin our roles at all times.
This forum is for all the learners that are or have been on the qualification with LMP Education. Even when the Qualification ends this can stand as a resource and support continuing.
As the Apprenticeship Tutor I will of course be involved and moderate, to a point. You have your formal reviews with me, as well as Workshops and access to me, so my role here is reduced. I will of course ensure that all content meets Equality and Diversity requirements, as well as Safeguarding requirements. Beyond that I will offer advice.
It may be helpful to look at the ground rules below which are pinned at the top of the forum.
Confidentiality
As with any other aspect in these roles we ask you to adhere to the same confidentiality that you would within your role and with the rest of your qualification. Please ensure you do not digress from either your own services or LMP Education GDPR and confidentiality policies. For this forum please do not ever use names of those outside of the qualification. Please also to ensure you follow the Two step rule. Do not include more than two pieces of any type of identifying information in a post. That said there is absolutely nothing wrong with seeking opinions here, just please remember to apply your own policies if actioning them.
Please also remember when discussing Hot topics for example, these should not be rumours or hints in your area it should be from published news stories or articles. If you are not sure then feel free to message me to discuss.

Please remember to apply respect and dignity to each other, myself and anyone you may be referring to.
Plagiarism
I would like to encourage support for each other completing assignments and thinking about parts of the qualification. I will be uploading guidance and advice on here around assignment planning as well as planning for professional discussions. Peer support on this will be invaluable for you all as naturally as your Tutor I cannot just hand the answers out. However guidance and advice is a boundary. By all means share work for advice but please do not use others or offer for yours to be used to present for evidence for the qualification.
Ideas for using this forum:
Engaging with threads so that ideas are pooled in one place. For example the Legislation assignment thread. What legislation oversees you? It may help someone else who didn't have so much knowledge, and likewise you might see pieces of Legislation that you had forgotten to include.
Hot Topics and Local incidents : Often we hear about things in our local newspapers or within our local industries. Something that occurs in Norfolk may be on its way to Kent. It is useful for people to consider. Also you can discuss and consider things from different points of view.
Seeking advice on how others have approached assignments, perspectives, tricky parts.
Don't forget there will be the moments of stress, the frustration that comes from studying and working. The time constraints, the outcome pressure. The times that there simply is not enough time in the day due to work, family , outside pressures. This is the place that everyone understands, because last week they felt like this and next week someone else will. Rant away, seek the support.
If there are any concerns or doubts please don't hesitate to contact me. I will contribute and support but this is for you. I will not be picking on spelling and grammar, I will not be challenging if you express frustration or difficulty, this is a place for you with simply my support.
